Happy Labor Day! Now go thank a Caregiver…

While millions of Americans have a day off today to mark the end of summer, hundreds of thousands more don’t.

Healthcare workers all over the Nation are at their posts providing expert and compassionate care to those in need.  They are elevated souls.  Those woman and men who reported to work today, chose to be here instead of there.  They chose to not call out.  They chose to leave their families behind as they celebrate a last hurrah before the new school year begins.  They chose to put others before themselves.

Right now there are nurses and doctors, nursing assistants and home health aides, social workers and psychologists, dieticians and cooks,  rehab therapists and recreation therapists, food service workers and environmental aides, maintenance workers and laundry workers and all of the other specialists and generalists working together to keep the healthcare engine running

On this Labor Day, let’s reach out and thank them for their selflessness.  Let’s thank them for being there for our loved ones. Let’s thank them for being there for other Americans in need.

They are the backbone of great healthcare.

And they deserve our gratitude and appreciation.
